The celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” (Columbia Records/Sony Music) continue with Drumless Edition album release, set to be released on November 2023, Friday 17th. 2023, already available for pre-order at this link:

The first track extracted from the album, “Within (Drumless Edition)” is already available. Stripped of its drums, this new version highlights the timeless musical structure of the track, and Chilly Gonzales piano gains an even more reflective quality.

Following the May release of “Random Access Memories” (10th Anniversary Edition), this new version of the Grammy Award-winning Album of The Year removes all drum and percussion elements, bringing forth a timeless quality and allowing listeners to delve deeper into the layers that make up each track. An album without percussion elements creates a completely new experience, transforming the tracks entirely.

In operations related to the tenth anniversary of “Random Access Memories” Daft Punk presented “Memory Tapes” a look inside the creation of the album by collaborators such as Julian Casablancas, Chilly Gonzales, DJ Falcon, and Todd Edwards. Future episodes featuring Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Paul Williams, and Chris Caswell are planned. The interviews for Memory Tapes were conducted at Henson Studios in Los Angeles and Gang Studios in Paris, the spaces where a significant portion of “Random Access Memories” was recorded, and where collaborators worked. Each episode includes a new interview, archival footage, and unseen studio footage of Daft Punk creating what became their final album.

“Random Access Memories” (Drumless Edition) will be released on Columbia Records/Sony Music and will be available in the following formats: CD, double LP, and digital, including the spatial audio version with Dolby Atmos on Apple Music.
