From 20th to 23rd November 2025, Nyege Nyege Festival marks its 10th anniversary at its new permanent home: Kalagala Falls on the River Nile, between Adrift Overland Camp & River Club and community-run cultural grounds in Kangulumira in Uganda. With over 300 artists, six stages, and an expanded cultural program, the festival opens a new chapter for African creativity.
a decade of sound, community & renaissance
What began as an underground gathering on the Nile has evolved into a global hub for alternative African music, radical artmaking, and communal joy. Over its first decade, Nyege Nyege has united thousands of artists and collectives across continents, shaping a vibrant cultural ecosystem rooted in Uganda.
a new home for the portal
This year inaugurates Kalagala Falls as the festival’s long-term home. The Adrift Overland Camp offers sweeping views, wilderness, adventure sports and strong infrastructure, while community-held cultural grounds preserve sacred trees, ancestral spaces and panoramic views of the river. A commitment to stewardship shapes the next decade.
Six stages, 300+ artists, and a cosmic sonic journeyThe festival’s six “cosmic” stages host more than 300 artists from across Africa and the diaspora, including MC Yallah, Hibotep, Otim Alpha, Turkana, Duma, Chrisman, Kamaliza, Phelimuncasi, Kabeaushé, DJ Marcelle, and IAO. Across all stages, Nyege Nyege blends Ugandan heritage with global club culture, Caribbean and Latin American rhythms, experimental electronics and future-facing underground sounds. The full lineup will be announced in August. From Lagos to Nairobi, Durban to Bogotá, Kampala to São Paulo, Nyege Nyege invites global movements, collectives and creative communities to co-create a new cultural map built on sound, solidarity and shared imagination.
